What to Serve with

Ingredients

- Ground Chicken - store-bought ground chicken is a lean, high protein, and healthy option for weeknight dinners that cooks so quickly! You can use a food processor to grind up your own chicken at home if you prefer.
- Garlic Powder - to season the chicken. We love all things garlic but since the ground chicken cooks so quickly it is better to use garlic powder rather than fresh garlic as it would not have enough time to cook through and would have an overpowering flavour.
- Dill - a classic herb used in Greek cooking. It gives the chicken a great flavor.
- Onion powder - to season the ground chicken.
- Parsley - adds a fresh pop of color to the chicken mixture.
- Salt and Pepper
- Lemon Juice - this gives the chicken a great fresh lemony flavor! A classic ingredient in the marinade for Greek chicken souvlaki.
- Tzatziki - we love homemade tzatziki but you can also use store-bought as a topping for the tacos.
- Tomato - finely dice tomatoes are a perfect topping for these tacos.
- Small Tortillas - using mini or small tortillas makes the tacos a perfect size.
- Red Onion - we love raw red onion on our Greek tacos. You can soak the red onions in ice water or vinegar to remove some of the raw onion flavor if you prefer.
- Cucumber - adds a nice fresh flavor to the tacos as a topping.
- Feta Cheese - the more feta the better!

- Prepare the chicken mixture. In a large bowl add the ground chicken, lemon juice, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, dill, salt and pepper. Stir well until evenly combined.
- Evenly distribute the chicken mixture on top of the tortillas. Use a fork or spoon to smash the mixture onto the tortilla into a smooth even layer. Be sure to spread the mixture right to the edges of the tortilla because it will shrink slightly when cooking.
- Heat a frying pan on medium-high heat. Spray lightly with cooking oil or drizzle a small amount of oil on the pan. Working in batches, place 3-4 tortillas meat side down onto the preheated pan and gently press to smash them. Cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the meat is browned and edges crispy.
- Flip the tacos over onto tortilla side and continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes (meat should be 165℉ internal temperature) or until you see the edges and bottom of the tortilla turn golden brown and crispy.
- Transfer the tacos to a sheet pan lined with a wire rack and keep in the oven on the keep warm setting while you cook the remaining tacos. Repeat until all tacos are cooked.
- Transfer the tacos to a serving platter and top with your desired amount of tzatziki, red onion, tomato, cucumber, and feta cheese. Fold the tacos in half and enjoy!

Tips for the Best Tacos
- Ground Chicken - we love to create our own seasoning blend for the ground chicken but for an even quicker recipe you can use a jar of store-bought Greek seasoning. You can spread the chicken right onto the tortillas and then sprinkle some of the Greek seasoning right on top. This eliminate the need for a bowl to stir the ground chicken and season it.
- Tortillas - this recipe can be made using any size of tortilla. We personally love to use mini street taco size tortillas or small tortillas. This way they are easier to fold in half and eat.
- Flavor Variations - the best part about tacos is that they are customizable. We love the classic combo of tzatziki, onion, cucumber, tomato and feta. You can add French fries, hot peppers, hot sauce, pickles, and more! Get creative and add your favorite toppings.
