Ingredients

- Onion - for the best flavor we recommend using yellow onions or Vidalia onions! They caramelize beautifully and have the best sweet flavor. In a pinch you could also use white onions or even red onions but the flavor will be slightly different.
- Greek Yogurt - we love using Greek yogurt in place of sour cream for cold dips. It's much healthier, has a higher protein content, and tastes the exact same as sour cream once you add in all the other dip ingredients. Trust us you won't miss the sour cream in this recipe! If you really don't want to use yogurt you can swap for sour cream or do half and half!
- Garlic - everything is better with garlic. It is sautéed with the onions and adds a great flavor!
- Worcestershire Sauce - adds a salty, tangy, and umami flavor to the dip that pairs perfect with the caramelized onions.
- Salt and Pepper
- Oil - to cook the onions.

Tips for the Best Dip
- Onions - it is important to take your time and allow the onions to fully caramelize for the best flavor. You want them to be golden brown and sticky. This gives the dip the best flavor! You can use yellow onions or Vidalia onions for the best flavor, or white onions and red onions work also.
- Flavor Variations - there are so many different ways to make this dip. We love the classic French onion flavor. However, you can add in a few more ingredients to change up the flavor and keep the dip unique. For example, finely diced red bell pepper, red onion, cooked bacon bits, diced jalapenos, cooked diced shrimp, or cooked diced crab!
- For Serving - this dip can be served with chips, vegetables, pita bread, baguette, or any kind of crostini that you like. It's a fun way to keep the dip unique each time you serve it, try serving it with something different to dip!
