This is the perfect dip for Game Days, movie nights, holiday gatherings and potlucks. Everyone will be asking for the recipe and you will be making it on repeat.
What is Fried Pickle Dip
Fried pickle dip is a fun twist on the classic fried pickle appetizer. A rich and creamy dip made with sour cream and cream cheese is the perfect base for the dip. Packed with diced dill pickles, Ranch seasoning, and pickle juice its the perfect pairing! To give the dip it's fried pickle component, crispy panko breadcrumbs are toasted and seasoned with dill. Served on top of the dip it adds the perfect crunch factor!

Ingredients
- Pickles - this dip is versatile and you can use your favorite brand and flavor of pickle. We love to use classic dill pickles with garlic! You can change up the flavor and use a spicy pickle if you prefer.
- Sour Cream - this is the base of the dip that is combined with cream cheese. It adds just enough tang to complement the pickles perfectly.
- Cream Cheese - room temperature cream cheese is the base of the dip. It gives the dip a rich creamy and cheesy flavor.
- Panko Breadcrumbs - this gives the fried texture and flavor to the dip. They are toasted in butter and seasoned with dill.
- Pickle Juice - the addition of pickle juice gives the dip an extra pop of pickle flavor.
- Butter - used to toast the breadcrumbs
- Ranch Seasoning - ranch is the perfect dip for fried pickles. This seasoning mix gives the dip a nice ranch flavor. You can also use ranch dressing if you do not have seasoning mix on hand.
- Dill - used to season the breadcrumbs and garnish the dip.
How to Make Fried Pickle Dip

- In a frying pan on medium heat add the butter. Heat until fully melted. Add in the panko bread crumbs. Stir often, until lightly toasted and golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Stir in the dill and remove from the pan.
- In a medium sized bowl add the softened cream cheese and sour cream. Mix until evenly combined
Tip: ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature and soft to the touch. You can microwave it on a microwave safe plate for 15-30 seconds. It needs to be soft to be able to stir the dip together without lumps. - Add the chopped dill pickles, Ranch seasoning mix, and pickle juice to the bowl and stir until evenly combined.
- Assemble and Serve
If serving the dip immediately, spread the dip into a serving bowl and top with the breadcrumbs. Garnish with the additional diced pickles and dill. Serve with chips, baguette, crackers, or pita bread to dip and enjoy!
If preparing in advance. You can prep the dip and store in the fridge until ready to serve. Spread the dip into a serving platter, cover with plastic wrap and store in the fridge. Store the prepared breadcrumbs in an air tight container at room temperature. This prep can be done up to 3 days in advance.
When ready to serve, remove the dip from the fridge, give it a stir and then top with the breadcrumbs. Garnish with the additional diced pickles and dill. Serve with chips, baguette, crackers, or pita bread to dip and enjoy!

- Cream Cheese - the base of the dip is a combination of cream cheese and sour cream. It's crucial to ensure the cream cheese has been softened at room temperature. Just leave it on the kitchen counter for 15-20 minutes, or you can microwave it on a microwave safe plate for 15-30 seconds. You want the cream cheese to be soft to the touch so that when you stir the dip together there are no lumps.
- Pickles - class dill pickles are perfect for this dip. However, you can use any pickles you prefer or have in your fridge. For example, garlic pickles, sweet pickles, spicy pickles, etc.
- Flavor Variations - this fried pickle dip is made with dill pickles and ranch seasoning mix. You can get creative and switch up the flavors. For example, you can use spicy garlic pickles and a chipotle ranch for a spicier dip. Instead of ranch you can swap for blue cheese dressing if you prefer!

We do not recommend freezing this dip as the base is dairy which tends to split when frozen and thawed.
