Ingredients
- Cooked Chicken - this is a great recipe for entertaining because you can use a store bought rotisserie chicken to cut down on your prep time! Just shred the chicken into bite sized pieces and you are ready to go.
- Ranch Dressing (or Blue Cheese Dressing) - oh the great debate of ranch vs buffalo!!! We personally are huge fans of ranch dressing so that is what we use for our recipe. You can swap for blue cheese or you can cut the filling in half and make half with ranch and half with blue cheese. You could make it a game where your guests have to taste test each one and guess the flavor and say which one they prefer!
- Buffalo Sauce - the key to any buffalo chicken recipe. Store bought buffalo sauce works great or you can make your own homemade version.
- Wonton Wrappers - these versatile wrappers are used to make wontons. They are so versatile and can be shaped into so many different things, such as cups for appetizer bites! They are found in the refrigerator section next to the tofu and chilled salad dressings. You can even make Sweet Chili Chicken Wonton Tacos with them!
- Cream Cheese - the base of the buffalo chicken dip filling. It's the perfect rich and creamy cheese for baked dips.
- Mozzarella and Cheddar - this adds a stretchy cheese texture to the filling... who doesn't love a good cheese pull!
- Garlic Powder - normally we are team fresh garlic but for this appetizer it is good to use garlic powder so you don't overpower the dip with garlic flavor. Garlic powder adds just the right amount of garlic flavor!
- Green Onions - adds a fresh pop of color and flavor in the filling and for garnish.

Tips for the Best Wonton Cups
- Wonton Wrappers - can be found in the refrigerator section of grocery stores next to the tofu and refrigerated salad dressing. They are small square wrappers. You MUST pre-bake the wonton cups as per the recipe or else they will not get crispy.
- Muffin Tin - if you do not have a mini muffin tin (24 count), you can use a regular sized muffin tin (12 count). Place two wonton wrappers in the regular sized muffin tin, offset them so that the 4 corners of each wrapper do not overlap to create the cup. Follow the recipe as usual and place 2 tablespoons of the buffalo chicken filling into each wonton cup. Using a regular sized muffin tin will make 12 wonton cups instead of 24.
- Filling - be sure that your cream cheese is at room temperature or else the filling will be very hard to mix together. While you prep all the ingredients for the recipe leave the cream cheese on the kitchen counter. Or you can place it on a microwave safe plate and heat for 10 seconds, or until slightly warm and soft to the touch.
