Buffalo Chicken Garlic Bread is a twist on two classic appetizers - buffalo chicken wings and garlic bread. Everyone loves the two appetizers so why not merge them together. Two giant slices of garlic bread are made with a loaf of French bread. It is then topped with a rich, creamy, and spicy buffalo chicken spread. Covered with cheese and baked until golden brown it's the ultimate appetizer. To take things up another level we top the whole loaf off with a drizzle of Ranch - yum!

Ingredients
- Loaf of Bread - a French loaf of bread is one of the most budget friendly ways to make an appetizer for a crowd. They are often $1-2 at the store and they are HUGE. You can make about 14-18 slices of garlic bread for a crowd. Instead of using a French loaf of bread you can also use any large crusty loaf of bread you can find.
- Cooked Chicken - the best part about this recipe is that it's meant to be a quick and easy appetizer! That means you can use rotisserie chicken. All you need to do is shred the chicken. You can also make homemade chicken and shred it into small pieces.
- Cheddar Cheese and Mozzarella Cheese - the combination of cheddar and mozzarella gives the bread a great stretchy cheesy flavor!
- Cream Cheese - the base of the buffalo chicken spread. Cream cheese is perfect for spreads because it does not fully melt when cooked. Baked cream cheese has the most rich and creamy texture.
- Buffalo Sauce - they key ingredient for any buffalo chicken recipe.
- Green Onions - baked into the buffalo chicken spread and used for garnish for a fresh pop of flavor and color!
- Butter, Garlic, Parsley - used to make the homemade garlic bread that is baked on the bread. You can also use a store-bought garlic butter if you prefer.
How to Make Buffalo Chicken Garlic Bread

- Carefully slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise. Place the bread cut side up on a large cookie sheet, sheet pan, or baking tray.
- In a small bowl stir together the melted butter, garlic, and fresh chopped parsley. Brush the mixture over the cut sides of the bread.
Note: depending on the size of the loaf of bread used you may need to double the garlic butter amount. Ensure there is enough butter to evenly cover both sides of the bread. - Turn on the ovens broiler on low. Place the sheet pan with the bread on the middle rack of the oven for 2 minutes, rotate the tray and broil for 2 more minutes, or until just slightly golden brown and toasted. Watch the bread closely so it does not burn. Remove from the oven and set aside.
- Change oven temperature setting to 375°F.
- In a large bowl add the shredded cooked chicken and buffalo sauce. Toss until evenly coated.
- Add in the cream cheese, half of the cheddar cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, and sliced green onions. Mix until evenly combined.
Tip: taste the mixture to see if you would like to increase the spice level. Add an additional tablespoon at a time of buffalo sauce to your desired spice level. - Use a spoon to spread half of the chicken mixture on each piece of toasted bread.
- Sprinkle each half with the reserved cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
- Bake the garlic bread for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese melts.
- Remove the bread from oven and top with crumbled blue cheese (optional) and green onions.
- Drizzle with ranch dressing, or blue cheese. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Tips for the Best Bread
- Flavor Variations - we love buffalo chicken wings. However, we are also huge fans of BBQ wings. If you prefer to make a less spicy or non-spicy version of this garlic bread you can swap the buffalo sauce for a mild or medium BBQ sauce! You can also make half and half, just split the filling mixture in half before adding in the buffalo and bbq sauce.
- Bread- we love using a loaf of French bread for this recipe. It is much thicker than a baguette and has a light and fluffy interior. The outside gets nice and crispy when baked and the inside stays light and fluffy. You can use a French bread, Italian Loaf of bread, or really any crusty loaf of bread you can find.
- For Serving - you can assemble the bread up to 1 day in advance. This can help cut down on prep time the day of serving. Just store the prepared bread covered in the fridge on the baking tray. Remove the baking trays from the fridge, spray foil with cooking spray and cover the trays. Bake the bread covered at 350°F for 15-18 minutes, and then uncover for about 4-5 minutes to crispen up the cheese. Serve and enjoy!
