Tips for the Best Puffs
- Puff Pastry - it is important to let the puff pastry fully thaw so that is does not tear when you are trying to unroll it. Using store bought pre-rolled puff pastry is perfect for a quick and easy appetizer. If you can only find a brick of pastry you can thaw it and then roll it out into a square to prepare this recipe.
- Serving - these are delicious served warm or at room temperature. If you plan on baking them and serving them later, you should wait to drizzle the honey or hot honey so that the pastry does not get soggy.
- Flavor Variations - we love the combination of brie, prosciutto and fig jam. You can also use camembert or mozzarella cheese if you prefer. For added flavor you could even use a smoked mozzarella or cheddar. Instead of fig jam try apricot jam, cranberry sauce, or peach preserves.

These can be served warm or at room temperature.
Air Fryer – Preheat Air Fryer to 350˚F. Add to the air fryer basket or tray and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until warmed through.
Oven – Preheat oven to 375˚F. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and cook for 4-5 minutes, or until warmed through.

Refrigerate in an air tight container in the fridge up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
Cooked pastries can be frozen for up to 3 months in an air tight container or Ziploc bag. If freezing in a container, add a piece of parchment paper between layers to prevent them from sticking together. Allow to thaw in the fridge overnight and reheat with the above steps, or reheat from frozen (add 2-3 minutes to the reheating time).
I recommend only making this recipe up to 1 day in advance and do not drizzle the honey yet. Store in the fridge overnight, reheat in the oven or air fryer and then drizzle the honey before serving.
Swap the prosciutto for a plant based deli meat of choice.
Use gluten free store bought or homemade puff pastry and ensure the brand of prosciutto used is gluten free.
