A simple and sweet dessert for fall! Caramel apple cheesecake egg rolls are a decadent handheld treat that take only 20 minutes to make.
The filling is a combination of sweet and tart apples, caramel sauce, brown sugar and a pinch of cinnamon. The egg roll wrappers bubble up while cooking for a light and crispy exterior.
Coat the egg rolls in cinnamon sugar after cooking for a beautiful and sweet finish. Serve with additional caramel sauce to dip and enjoy!

If you are looking for all the great flavors of a caramel apple mixed with a cheesecake but don't want to stress over perfecting a cheesecake and worry about it cracking. Try these egg rolls instead!
I have included 3 cooking methods in the recipe below, air fried, deep fried stove top and oven baked. My personal favorite way to cook egg rolls is air fried. Not only is it a healthier option with less oil used but it is also much quicker as you don’t need to hover over the oven frying egg rolls in batches. Instead just pop them in the air fryer, set it and come back to perfectly cooked egg rolls.
What is in Caramel Apple Cheesecake Egg Rolls?
- Apples - you can use your favorite variety of apples for this recipe, red or green. My favorite is green apples, they are a little tart with a hint of sweetness when baked. You don't want to use an apple that is too sweet as we will be adding sugar and caramel sauce in the filling so don't worry about the apples being a little tart! I recommend peeling the apples for the best texture of the filling but if you are in a rush or like the peels you can keep them on.
- Cream Cheese - a thin slice of cream cheese is added to the center of the egg roll wrapper. The cream cheese does not fully melt while cooking. It creates the perfect creamy texture replicating cheesecake in the interior of the egg roll.
- Caramel Sauce - store bought or homemade caramel sauce, or Dulce de Leche, can be used for this recipe. I love using store bought to cut down on prep time.
- Cinnamon and Brown Sugar - to season the apple filling the diced apple are tossed in cinnamon and brown sugar. Once cooked the egg rolls get a beautiful and sweet cinnamon sugar coating as well!
- Egg Roll Wrappers – egg roll wrappers are found in the refrigerator section of grocery stores (beside the chilled salad dressings and tofu).
- For a gluten free option use rice paper rolls instead.
How to Make Caramel Apple Cheesecake Egg Rolls

1 Carefully peel and core the apples. Cut into small bite sized pieces (approximately 2 cups total of diced apples).
2 Evenly slice the ½ brick of cream cheese into 12 thin slices.
3 In a small plate or bowl prepare the cinnamon sugar coating by mixing together the sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
4 In a medium sized bowl, combine the diced apples, caramel sauce, brown sugar and cinnamon. Mix until evenly combined.
5 To assemble the egg rolls place one slice of cream cheese in the center and top with 1-2 tablespoons of the apple filling mixture.
6 Dip your finger in water and wet the edges of the egg roll wrapper.
7 Fold in two opposite corners to the center and then tightly roll.
8 Repeat with remaining egg roll wrappers.
Cooking Methods
AIR FRYER COOKING METHOD
Brush both sides of the egg rolls with oil and Air Fry at 400°F for 5-10 minutes or until golden brown.
STOVE TOP COOKING METHOD
Heat a deep pot with oil on medium heat. Fry the egg rolls in small batches for 5 minutes or until golden brown.
OVEN BAKING METHOD
Brush the egg rolls with oil on both sides. Place directly on a sheet pan lined with tin foil OR on a sheet pan with a baking rack. Bake at 400°F for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown. Flip halfway through cooking and brush with more oil as needed.
Once the egg rolls are cooked and still warm, carefully coat each egg roll in the cinnamon sugar.
Serve with additional caramel sauce for dipping and enjoy!
How to Reheat Caramel Apple Cheesecake Egg Rolls
Use one of these 3 options to reheat your egg rolls:
AIR FRYER REHEATING METHOD
Air Fry the cooked egg rolls at 400°F for 5 minutes, flipping halfway through. The egg roll wrapper will get crispy on the outside.
OVEN REHEATING METHOD
Place cooked egg rolls directly on a sheet pan lined with tin foil OR on a sheet pan with a rack. Bake at 400°F for 5 minutes. Flip halfway through reheating. The egg roll wrapper will get crispy on the outside.
MICROWAVE REHEATING METHOD
Microwave in 15 second intervals until warmed through (note: this reheating method will not make the egg roll wrapper crispy)
