Tips for the Best Nutella Twist Pastries

  • Puff Pastry – store bought froze rolled puff pastry is the quickest way to make this recipe. All you need to do is thaw the pastry and then remove it from the package. However, if you cannot find rolled puff pastry, you can use a pack of unrolled puff pastry. Allow the pastry to thaw, cut the brick in half and then roll into 2 evenly sized square  pieces.
  • Nutella – make sure you Nutella is at room temperature before spreading it over the puff pastry. If the Nutella is too cold it will be too hard to spread and it will tear the pastry. For a fun twist you can also use crunchy Nutella! It’s packed with chopped hazelnuts that add a great texture to the pastries.
  • Egg – don’t skip the egg! You can technically omit the egg from this recipe but the pastry will not get a nice golden brown color after baking.
