One of my favorite ways to make crispy pierogi is air fried! They turn out so crispy and delicious and are a great finger food! Served with a smokey Cajun dip these are SO addictive!
Pierogi with Cajun Dip Recipe
These pierogi are the perfect mix of crunch with a creamy inside and tangy smokey dipping sauce.
Pierogi are often pan fried in oil and tossed with fried onions and bacon. These are delicious but sometimes I am looking for a quick finger food or appetizer for a get together.
These crispy perogies are the handheld version of pan fried perogies. No need to worry about a greasy exterior. These are a tasty finger food with a tangy smokey dip.

Ingredient Feature
- Pierogi - you can definitely use homemade pierogi for this recipe but to make this a quick appetizer I use store bought frozen perogies. The Cajun Dip is loaded with smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder and chipotle chili pepper powder for a perfectly smokey flavor.
How to Make Crispy Pierogi

1 In a large bowl combine salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and chipotle chili pepper powder. Pour in vegetable oil and stir to combine. Set aside.
2 In a large pot of boiling water, cook pierogi until they float. Approximately 5-10 minutes for frozen pierogi, or 2-5 minutes for fresh.
3 Drain the cooked pierogi and toss with the seasoned oil until evenly coated.
4 Set air fryer to 400°F and cook pierogi until golden brown. Approximately 10 minutes, flipping them half way through cooking.
Cajun Dip
Combine all dip ingredients (recipe below) and stir until completely incorporated. Chill until ready to serve.

Perogies
- 1 ½ - 2 lbs fresh or frozen pierogi (1 bag or box)
- 3 tablespoon vegetable oil (or cooking oil of choice)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- ½ tablespoon chipotle chili pepper powder
Cajun Dip
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Pinch chipotle chili pepper powder (or to taste)
- Pinch chili powder (optional, to taste)
Instructions
