Charcuterie is one of the most versatile and widely loved appetizers. What's not to love about a variety of cheese, meats, jams, crackers, and pickled vegetables. The best part is that it's so easy to prepare for a party and it's so fancy. We just knew we had to transform a classic charcuterie board into a flatbread pizza. It's the ultimate way to level up your entertaining game. We love charcuterie so much we even made charcuterie nachos.
What is Charcuterie Flatbread
A charcuterie flatbread is an easy and fancy appetizer. A flatbread is topped with both brie and parmesan cheese for the ultimate cheesy base. Prosciutto and salami are cut into bite sized pieces and placed over top of the cheese. Dollops of fig jam, a classic spread for charcuterie boards, are baked on the flatbread. The jam caramelizes perfectly and adds the perfect sweet and sticky component to the flatbread.
What to Serve with

Ingredients

- Flatbread - we love using store bought so that the recipe is even quicker and easier to make. Of course you can make your own flatbread but for a quick recipe we just pick one up from the store.
- Oil - since there is no pizza sauce for this flatbread, we brush the flatbread with oil so that the edges do not burn while cooking and to keep the flatbread moist under the toppings.
- Prosciutto - this is our favorite part of any charcuterie board. This thinly sliced, salty, cured meat is simply divine! You can swap for any salami or deli meat you prefer to serve on your charcuterie boards.
- Salami - any combination of genoa salami, cacciatore salami, spicy salami, spicy calabrese salami, and more, works great. Use up any leftovers you have in the fridge or pick up your favorites from the deli counter!
- Parmesan - what's not to love about parmesan cheese. It's sprinkled over the flatbread for added flavor.
- Brie - this rich and creamy cheese is perfect for flatbreads because it gets even more creamy when melted! You could also swap for camembert or shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Fig Jam - this unique jam has a rich and sweet flavor. It is a very common spread included on charcuterie boards. It is dolloped over the flatbread and it caramelizes when baked making it the perfect rich and sticky topping for flatbreads.
- Basil - thinly sliced fresh basil is used to garnish the flatbread. It adds a great flavor.

Tips for the Best Charcuterie Flatbread Pizza
- Flatbread - we love keeping a few flatbreads or pre-cooked store bought pizza crusts in the freezer for quick and easy weeknight dinners, last minute entertaining recipes, and pizza night snacks! You can use any variety or shape of flatbread from the store, or make it homemade. This recipe is great for entertaining because you can easily make a second flatbread using a gluten free flatbread if you have gluten free guests or family members.
- Customizable - the fun thing about pizza night is that you can customize it to your liking. Some fun additions to this charcuterie flatbread include roasted red peppers, marinated artichokes, roasted eggplant, marinated olives, and more! Get creative and add any toppings you like.
- Spice Level - when it comes to entertaining we like to serve some non-spicy and spicy appetizers. You can make two flatbreads and make one spicy by using extra hot honey, adding sliced pepperoncini, use a spicy Havarti cheese, use spicy salami, and use a spicy red pepper jelly instead of fig jam!
