Fettuccine Alfredo is my favorite pasta dish. Perfectly cooked fettuccine coated in a luxurious garlic parmesan alfredo sauce. One of the simplest yet delicious pastas! Fettucine alfredo doesn’t need much of an introduction. We all know and love the tender ribbons of pasta coated in a creamy garlic infused sauce! Serve with a crusty piece of garlic bread and you have a perfect plate! Serve the pasta topped with your favorite grilled chicken, shrimp or steak for an easy Italian dinner at home!
In a medium saucepan add butter, milk and cream cheese. Cook over medium heat and whisk until melted.
Add the minced garlic, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Continue to whisk until smooth. Add the grated Parmesan cheese.
Bring to a simmer and continue to cook for about 5-10 minutes or until it starts to thicken.
Bring a large pot of water to a boil with a generous spoonful of salt added in. Once the water boils add in the pasta and cook according to package directions, or until al dente.
Before draining the pasta reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
Drain the pasta. Toss the pasta with the sauce. Gradually add in a splash of pasta water until your desired sauce consistency is reached. The pasta water will help thicken the sauce and the sauce will cling to the pasta.
Serve garnished with fresh chopped parsley and enjoy!
