Jalapeno poppers have always been and always will be one of my favorite appetizers. With many variations such as bacon wrapped, coated in breadcrumbs and deep fried, made into a dip and more.

If you have ever tried making jalapeno poppers, whether they were bacon wrapped or coated in breadcrumbs and deep fried you may have experienced the filling leaking out while cooking. One of the benefits of jalapeno popper egg rolls is the egg roll wrapper locks in the filling! If you love jalapeno poppers as much as I do you have to try my Jalapeno Popper Chicken Dip and Jalapeno Popper Wonton Cups too!

Egg roll wrappers bubble up while cooking, leaving a light and crispy exterior. The filing of these egg rolls has a bit of heat from the jalapeno but it is not overly spicy as jalapenos are on the milder side. Cream cheese, bacon, mozzarella and cheddar cheese create the perfect creamy filling for these egg rolls. These are a must try!

I have included 3 cooking methods in the recipe below, air fried, deep fried stove top and oven baked. My personal favorite way to cook egg rolls is air fried. Not only is it a healthier option with less oil used but it is also much quicker as you don’t need to hover over the oven frying egg rolls in batches. Instead just pop them in the air fryer, set it and come back to perfectly cooked egg rolls.

What is in Jalapeno Popper Egg Rolls?

ingredients to make jalapeno popper egg rols
  • Jalapeno Peppers – you can’t make jalapeno poppers without jalapenos. They are on the lower level of spice once the seeds are removed.

  • Cream Cheese – the creamy filling of these egg rolls comes from cream cheese which does not fully melt while cooking making it the perfect base for the filling.

  • Mozzarella and Cheddar Cheese – I love the flavor combination of mozzarella and cheddar but you can use any mix of your favorite cheese. For an added kick of spice use a spicy cheese, such as jalapeno Monterrey Jack!

  • Bacon – does bacon really need an introduction? Bacon makes everything better, including these egg rolls!
  • Garlic Powder and Salt – feel free to add chili flakes for an extra kick of spice.

  • Egg Roll Wrappers – egg roll wrappers are found in the refrigerator section of grocery stores (beside the chilled salad dressings and tofu).
    • For a gluten free option use rice paper rolls instead.
